The Corona virus epidemic has made our hygiene habits serious. Now people are trying to keep more clean. Habits like hand washing, surface cleaning are common nowadays, but these habits are causing trouble for people suffering from mental illness OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). It is having a bad effect on children.
OCD is a mental state in which the sufferer repeats various tasks due to any fear or anxiety. The victim frequently performs tasks such as washing hands, inspecting things frequently, and repeating things over and over again. OCD has 2 things one obsession and the other compulsion. Obsession is a thought, desire and feeling that a person cannot control. So in compulsion the person repeats.
Symptoms of OCD are also seen in children It is difficult for parents to identify changing behaviors in children. It becomes difficult to know whether such behavior is for the safety of the child or out of compulsion. In May, a 15-year-old boy found his friend 6 feet away after a long time. According to child psychologist John Duffy, when the child returned home, he had a fear for the virus in his mind. He started washing his hands frequently and did not touch any surface. According to Dr. Duffy, the number of children with OCD symptoms has now tripled.
